Duties and responsibilities:

i. Implementing Regulations of the People's Republic of China pertaining to Academic Degrees;

ii. Drafting reform and development plans for national academic degrees and postgraduate education;

iii. Guiding and managing postgraduate student education; guiding the development and management of academic disciplines;

iv. Implementing and coordinating schemes such as the “Double First-Class Universities and Disciplines” project;

v. Conducting day-to-day work of the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee.
